Kingston Yellow Bike Program:
Some of the 100 helmets and safety equipment the club donated to the Kingston Yellow Bike program which assists disadvantaged youth in obtaining a bike of their own.

June 2007 Launching of the "Nexus-Junebug".
This 14 foot rowing skiff was built from scratch in Marcus Darwell's (in bow) class of ADD public school students. Every Thursday afternoon, from April to June, the class worked under the supervision of Optimist Bruce Hector on this stitch and glue boat and launched it under the watchfull eyes of the Coast Guard before the end of the 06-07 school year. The club fully funded this project and Rust Check Kingston provided all tools and construction support as a community service.
Sky's The Limit Festival:

Five Cataraqui Optimists donated their time to help make this event a success. Optimist Bruce Hector loaned his ex-Canadian Armed Forces Iltis jeep to the 2006 Sky's the Limit display of military vehilces.
Kid's Help Phone:
We donated $500 towards this valuable service that helps youth in times of immediate stress.
Hotel Dieu Student's Art Gallery:
We have supported this hospital beautification project for several years. It adds a cheery area presence to the hospital.
The Optimist Club needs your help to support these and other deserving projects that all benefit area youth. New members always welcome.
